Course Overview:

You see your strengths in the technical know-how and you are an expert in solving practical problems. Writing, especially writing in English, may take you out of your comfort zone. But whatever your roles and work duties are, your effort will be wasted if you cannot communicate it effectively. 

This course is designed to introduce some of the key concepts and skills supporting business writing. Attending this course will offer you the knowledge and skills to produce technical documents which get read and understood. 


Upon successful completion of the course, participants will obtain a “Certificate of Attendance”.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the course, participants will be able to

1.develop and continue their understanding of business writing;

2.produce technical documents that suit the needs of a wide variety of readers;

3.identify resources and strategies to help build greater business writing ability.

Trainer Biography:

Dr Holly CHUNG

Dr Holly Chung is the Senior Lecturer of Department of English of Hang Seng Management College. Committed to the study of English, she majored in English and Translation in her undergraduate study and then sociolinguistics in her postgraduate journey. Her passion for this language has further grown to its teaching as a second language, leading to her pursuit of a postgraduate diploma of Education with the concentration in English-language. Holly is also keen on building a bridge between her research endeavours and her role as a teaching practitioner, steering her towards the completion of her Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership.

Dr Chung has more than 10 years of experience as an English-language teacher. She is also engaged in reference book writing in the areas of creative writing and collocation. She also worked as a freelance translator and interpreter for the police force, legal firms and publishing houses and a subtitle writer and editor for English-language TV programmes.
