Course Overview:

When Chinese corporations are expanding aggressively overseas to grasp the opportunities of the ‘the Belt and Road Initiative’ development; and many organisations are also developing their worldwide markets with the aim of globalisations, “Leadership in Diversity and Inclusion” has become a vital strategy closely linked to the development of people in varied cultures that affect their corporate profits. 

Diversity is also a necessary tool, facilitating leadership success. The core value of diversity is the belief that in spite of differences in age, gender, education, experience, religion, culture, all people have the potential to contribute and succeed.

Delivered by a mix of both academia and practitioner, this course will use a lively interactive approach to blend in their unique knowledge and real-life practices to show how crucial and powerful this diversity and inclusion strategy / tool can transform the organisation and make a real difference in the new leadership. Our professor will share the state-of-the-art trends while our seasoned human resources and organisation expert will share her experiences in implementing the diversity awareness campaign and initiatives in a cost effective way.   

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will obtain a “Certificate of Attendance”.

Learning Outcomes:

Trainer Biography:


Dr. Christine Lai is the CEO of Consultancy and ex-Asia HR Director. Dr. Lai’s past achievements include establishing the first Chinese Joint Venture Investment bank CICC for Morgan Stanley & People Construction Bank of China; winning the “Caring Company” Award for Employee Wellness and Diversity Program (in ABN-AMRO Bank); leading Cultural integration project in acquisition of Global Education at Pearson in China; supporting major reorganisation at ABN-AMRO Bank, Royal Bank of Scotland and Pearson.

Currently, Dr. Lai has leveraged her experience to serve her in a Christian way in universities, NGOs and business community. She has provided management consultancy and training in organisation design and transformation, HR strategy, cross-cultural management, diversity, leadership and coaching for various commercial organisations and non-profit organisations including Asia World Expo, HK Securities and Investment Institute, Dah Sing Bank, International Christian School and Generations Christian Education, etc. She is also a frequent public speaker in HR and Talent Forum and Professional Bodies including topics in Change, Diversity, Employee Wellness and Engagement, etc.

Dr. Lai is a life-long learner integrating her faith, knowledge and work into business practices and education. She has been teaching for MBA classes at a member of local universities.

She got her Bachelor of Social Science at Chinese University of HK in 1986, MA in Christian Studies at the Chinese University of HK in 2008, Doctorate degree of Business Administration (DBA) at HK Polytechnic University in 2003 after her EMBA degree at CUHK in 1997. She is undergoing a second Doctorate Program.


Professor CHOW Hau Siu, Irene is the Head and Professor, Department of Management & BBA-MGT Programme Director, Hang Seng Management College. Professor Irene Chow joined HSMC in 2013. Prior to that, she worked in the Department of Management at the Chinese University of Hong Kong for over 30 years, where she served as the Chairman of the Department of Management from 1991-1995. Professor Chow’s visiting teaching appointments included Singapore, Taiwan, and the USA. She has taught a wide range of courses at various levels including undergraduate, MBA, PhD, enabling her to develop pedagogical skills as well as a broad range of subject expertise. She has immense experiences in executive development for Management Studies for Civil Service, Social Service Executive Management, Training Management, Management and Business for Bank Officers.  She has also conducted management development for both public and private organisations.

Professor Chow’s research interests include human resource management systems, leadership, networking and cultural issues in Chinese societies. She is renowned as a leading researcher on Chinese human resource management studies. She is ranked number 5 globally among top scholars who made the most significant contribution to HRM research in China based on the Review of International Authoritative Journals (Xiao & Chen, 2013).

She has published over 110 refereed articles in mainstream leading international academic journals, books and book chapters. Her research publications are well-cited in journals and book chapters as shown in Google Scholar. She is an active participant in seminars, having presented 185 papers in major international and regional conferences.
